Rick Ascot, a young artist in Toronto in the 1980’s was optimistic about making a name for himself but much to his dismay, his work isn’t selling. Fed up, he stops painting and becomes a mailman. While he enjoys getting a regular pay check for once in his life, he quickly learns that delivering mail is no picnic. The work is tedious and uninspiring, the winters are harsh and his stern postal boss – Blake, a former hard-nosed Vietnam vet, sends shivers up his spine.
When he discovers an art class run by eccentric but sexy Miss Boon, he hopes she’ll be the spark he needs to get his art career back on track. Even though her class and teaching methods are a bit unusual, she turns out to be just the tonic he needs and he works harder than he’s ever worked before.
As time moves on, he meets a few quirky characters, including Hershel Apricot, his odd defense counsel – because he’s umm… been charged with attempted murder. However, Rick is innocent in more ways than one. All he has to do is prove it. Will Rick get away in time to clear his name or is he destined to spend the best years of his life in prison? 12M, 10F, 14VO.
