Angela Sarabia

Angela's inspiration for writing comes from being on stage. She has acted and directed everything from Shakespeare and Tennessee Williams to farce and murder mystery dinner theater and she loves it all. Because she spent her entire adult life acting and directing, writing engaging dialogue is one of her great strengths. Angela is currently President of the Board of Directors of Richey Suncoast Theater in New Port Richey, Florida. She runs a playwright's workshop where she helps new writers by gathering actors together to perform new works and give feedback. In addition to theater, she is an attorney and former prosecutor. She has a passion for helping victims of domestic violence navigate the legal system. She has recently taken up playwriting, where she has been able to merge her passion for advocating on behalf of victims with her love of theater and drama. Often in community theater, roles available to women can be boring, predictable, and stifling. Angela seeks to remedy this by writing plays that are not only action-packed and fun to perform, but that also challenge audiences and makes them think. Angela believes drama should captivate you and keep you guessing, both as an audience member and as an actor.
