This policy is written in simple language. The specific legal obligations of Stage-Write Plays when collecting and handling your personal information are outlined in the Privacy Act 1988 and in particular in the Australian Privacy Principles found in that Act.  We will update this privacy policy whenever our information handling practices change.  Updates will be displayed on this website, in this space (Backstage Matters / Privacy Policy).

This web site is owned and operated by Stage-Write Plays.  By using this site, you agree to the Internet Privacy Policy of this web site (www.stage-write.com.au), which is set out on this web site page. The Internet Privacy Policy relates to the collection and use of personal information you may supply to us through your conduct on the web site.  This Internet Privacy Policy is in addition to any other terms and conditions applicable to the web site. The Stage-Write Plays website is NOT intended for use by children under the age of 13 years and we will never intentionally collect data from children who are under 13 years of age.

Collecting Personal Information on Registered Members

As part of registering with us, we collect personal information about you in order for you to take full advantage of our services. To do this it may be necessary for you to provide additional information to us as detailed below.

When you place a sales order through our website, we need to know your full name, your email address, the suburb and country in which you reside, your credit card details and what you are purchasing. This allows us to process and fulfill your order successfully.  It also helps us in maintaining your account.  When you place orders, we use a fully secured server. Also, we have the latest security tools and secured socket layer (SSL) installed on the website that encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the sensitive customer data we collect is protected by several layers of encryption and several layers of security to prevent unauthorized access.

When you make a credit card payment, all online payments are processed securely through WooCommerce and e-WAY payment gateway. Credit Card payments are made directly through a 128 bit SSL Encryption software to ensure your personal details are kept safe. None of your credit card information is stored on our servers.

When you apply for a Performance Licence through Stage-Write Plays, in addition to the above information, we will collect the following information; Your performance venue details, your performance start and finish dates, the number of performances to be staged and the purpose of your performances.

Any personal information which is collected through the Stage-Write Plays website is secured through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates. SSL creates a secure connection between a client and a server, over which any amount of data can be sent securely.

Collecting Personal Information on Visitors

Personal information about visitors to our site is collected only when knowingly and voluntarily submitted. For example, we may need to collect such information to provide you with further services or to answer or forward any requests or enquiries. It is our intention that this policy will protect your personal information from being dealt with in any way that is inconsistent with applicable privacy laws in Australia.

Stage-Write Plays follows a standard procedure for using log files. These files log visitors when they visit our website.  All hosting Companies do this and it is a part of hosting services’ analytics.  The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.  These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.  The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website and gathering demographic information.

If you wish to cancel any previous acceptance of informational emails from us, or you wish to delete your member account, please contact us directly, using any one of the three options available under the “Contact Us” menu.  Please note that you can not delete your member account whilst you have a current performance licence in place.

The OAIC (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner) has primary responsibility for consumer complaints about privacy and data handling in the (CDR) Consumer Data Right system. The OAIC can handle complaints from individuals and small businesses that have an annual turnover of $3 million or less. They may refer certain complaints to an external dispute resolution scheme or the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) if they consider them to be best placed to review the matter.

Please note that before a complaint can be lodge with the OAIC – a consumer must complain to the relevant business first.
