If your production will be produced and/or performed by a professional theatre or drama entity – or is produced for commercial purposes (with the exception of primary and secondary schools) – your performances are considered to be for profit-making purposes and you are required to pay 10% of box office takings (ticket sales) OR the stated performance fees, whichever is the greater.

If, upon purchase of your play, it is determined that a percentage payment of box office takings is applicable – you will be asked to pay the relevant performance fees upfront; as this is the minimum performance royalty payment due for the play selected.  Immediately after all performances have concluded, you will be required to declare your total box office takings to us on the Stage-Write Plays Box Office Takings Declaration form.  This form will be provided, if required, after lodgement of your signed Performance Licence application.  If 10% of your box office takings is greater than the pre-paid Performance Fees, Stage-Write Plays will send you an invoice for the balance owing and payment will be due within seven (7) days.

Stage-Write Plays takes its responsibilities to its writers very seriously… Just like everyone else, they like to be paid for their work; and we thank you for your understanding.
